About the artist:

Leslie Bailey has been a full time artist for the past 20 years. Although most of her pieces are generally fantasy figures, such as faeries, elves and brownies etc., she also loves incorporating new styles into her work. One shouldn’t be surprised to see a steampunk doll or a mosaic piece. Leslie likes to dabble in many other mediums such as mosaic windows, shabby and vintage style decor altered art, and jewelry.

Like many creative types, Leslie is often found working on numerous projects at once. She also loves anything vintage and you will often see vintage items incorporated in her work. She continually searches for ways to express the whimsical nature of her imagination.

“Even after beginning a piece, although I may have an idea of what I want to create, sometimes the piece has a mind of its own. That in itself is very exciting.”

Leslie’s work has been featured in Contemporary Doll Collector, Doll Crafter and Costumer, Art Doll Quarterly, and Soft Dolls & Animals. In May 2007 Leslie entered her 1st competition in figurative art at the Canadian Doll Artist Association and won a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbon. In May 2009 she won 1st place people's choice at Canadian Doll Artist Association Competition as well as 2, 2nd place ribbons in the master/invitational categories.
